QuickDinner Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 24, 2026
QuickDinner helps you decide what to cook. You take a photo of your fridge,
and the app suggests recipes. This page describes what data we handle.
What we collect
- Device ID. A random ID stored on your device. We use it for daily scan limits and saved recipes. It is not tied to your name, email, or phone number.
- Fridge photos. Sent to our servers only to find ingredients and suggest recipes. We process them in memory and do not keep them after we send the result.
- Saved recipes. If you tap Save, we store that recipe on our servers under your device ID. No account is required.
- Usage analytics. Anonymous events like scan started, scan completed, and recipe opened (including timing). No account is required.
- Crash reports. If enabled, anonymous crash data so we can fix bugs.
What we do not collect
- No account, email, or phone number
- No contacts
- No precise location
- No ad tracking IDs
How we use data
- Suggest recipes from your scan
- Keep recipes you save on this device
- Limit abuse (rate limits)
- See how the app performs and improve it
- Fix crashes
Third-party services
- Google Gemini: reads fridge photos to find ingredients and write recipes
- Cloudflare: hosts our API
- PostHog: product analytics (anonymous)
- Sentry: crash reporting (anonymous)
These companies process data for us under their own privacy terms.
Data retention
We do not keep fridge photos on our servers. Saved recipes stay until you delete them
in the app or ask us to remove them. Analytics and crash data follow each
provider's settings (often about 30 to 90 days).
How to request deletion of your data
QuickDinner (developer contact below) does not use accounts. To request deletion of
data linked to your device, follow these steps:
-
Email
zhukovskiy86@gmail.com
with the subject line Delete my QuickDinner data.
-
Open QuickDinner → Settings → Device ID, tap Copy device ID, and paste that ID
into the email. You can also include your device model and OS.
-
We will confirm the request and delete identifiable server-side data within
30 days.
What we delete:
- Saved recipes stored under your device ID
- Entitlement / usage records tied to your device ID on our servers
What we do not keep (already not stored long-term):
- Fridge photos - processed in memory and not retained after we return results
What may remain for a limited time:
-
Anonymous analytics (PostHog) and crash reports (Sentry), until those providers
purge them under their retention settings (typically 30 to 90 days)
-
Purchase records held by the app store and by our payment provider,
which we cannot fully erase from those platforms
Children
QuickDinner is not meant for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may ask for access, correction, or deletion of data we hold.
We do not use user accounts, so most data is anonymous and hard to link back to you.
Use the deletion steps above, or email us for other privacy requests.
Changes
We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do.
